confession = i have a tendency to be a little cheap.

Maybe cheap is a little extreme, but I'm definitely frugal when it comes to my business expenses. After all, I run a very small business.

For the past three years, I've been using Vistaprint for my business cards. I liked that they were cheap enough that I could change my design often and not feel like I was wasting money. I think that when you're starting out, Vistaprint is a smart choice. 

For the past three years, I've been hearing about (and drooling over) Moo cards. They've become the go-to printer for many bloggers, but I really didn't think I could afford them yet.

Back in February, Kal had a Moo giveaway (100 free business cards) on her blog...I WON! 

I was super excited and got to work right away. I knew exactly how I wanted my new cards to look, and Moo definitely didn't disappoint:

My photo really doesn't do them justice; these cards are gorgeous in person! They're thick and lovely. I didn't think I would like the glossier finish (I like to write little notes on my cards when I send out orders), but it isn't super glossy.

These are so much nicer than my Vistaprint cards. Moo definitely has a repeat customer, which is precisely why they do those giveaways (sneaky, sneaky!).

We're a fairly low key Valentine household but my husband is coming home early tonight, so I'm excited about that!

Happy Thanksgiving everyone! We spent a sweet and quiet afternoon/evening with nearby family. We had sucha  good time that I forgot to take a single photo. No worries, the memories will still be around for quite a while :)

checking in!

Happy Thursday everyone!

I've definitely had a busy week or so. My better half has taken a few business trips, I met some friends in Atlanta over the weekend (while still recovering from a sinus infection) and I've been in major production mode trying to get the holiday journals in the shop by the first of November.

So, I took a break from the gym today in order to hunker down and get some stuff done. I sat in Starbucks while Lauryn was in school (about 2.5 hours). I may have spent more time tugging at one of my gray hairs (my first long one!) than I did working, but I enjoyed the peace and quiet.

My to-do list and I are back home. I'm currently juggling my tasks with housework and troubleshooting Cut the Rope for Lauryn :)

shop news: better homes and gardens feature!

I've been a little giddy all day today:

I seriously still can't believe it. My stitched circle Moleskines were featured in the November issue of Better Homes and Gardens!

Over the summer, Etsy was working with BGH on an article called Simply Handmade; ideas for hostess gifts that you can make yourself...or buy. Etsy approached me via e-mail and asked if I could recreate my stitched rainbow Moleskine using some of the Panetone Fall 2011 colors (I personally think the entire color palette is to die for).

The catch? I had to stitch a brand new one and make sure it delieverd to BGH in two days time. Yikes! Now that I can see my work in full color print, it was totally worth it.
